Karnatak Law Society’s,Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology (KLS VDIT) is running IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial E-Tutor Training program (Resource Center) since 2016. It is a project of NME-ICT, recognized by MHRD and Govt. of India, and developed at IIT Bombay. The Spoken Tutorial Project is about teaching and learning a particular FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) like Linux, Scilab, LaTeX, PHP & MySQL, Java, C/C++, LibreOffice etc. via an easy Video tool – Spoken Tutorials. Today, SMEs and Govt. departments are moving to Open Source Software like Linux OS. Students with this knowledge will have an edge in the job market. They can also become entrepreneurs and use Open Source Software in their businesses, and save money vs., if they were using commercial software. Net – it is a win-win situation for all.

Benefits:

  1. Training Programs run on Self Learning Mode or Remote Learning, no expert is required to teach the students. Faculty coordinators from various departments enroll students & students download online tutorials & generate test request.
  2. IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials E-Tutor Training programs are mapped with B.E course syllabus for teaching.
  3. Spoken Tutorial acts as e-Resource for students to understand the technical concepts along with providing students with certification from IIT Bombay for appearing and clearing the test.
  4. Students learn all available courses through Spoken Tutorial in the lab hours and also in their free time while online Test is conducted in college campus.
  5. IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials E-Tutor Training programs help students for their career with recruiters and at PG interviews.
