The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2004 and has experienced, dedicated and skilled faculties who are specialized in diverse areas of mathematics such as algebra, calculus, analysis and many more mathematical concepts. The department has 5 faculties having more than 4 years of experience. The department consists of one Associate Professor and 4 Assistant Professors. Few of the faculty are pursuing Ph.D. degree and are actively involved in the research work. The faculties attend various conferences, seminars, symposium, workshops regularly to enrich their knowledge, which also benefits our students in greater aspects. Also, the faculties carry out the research activities which are helpful to our students.
Faculty of Mathematics are not only involved in regular curriculum but also conduct remedial classes for regular students as well as the lateral students separately to encourage them to resolve any problems related to mathematics. Each of the faculty are involved in regular counselling of the students and guide students in boosting their mathematical skills. We also conduct the Aptitude Test and Quiz for students to enhance their mathematical skills. For the first year students Department of Mathematics conducts bridge course during the induction program to have a link between basic concepts of mathematics with the technical concepts of Engineering. Our department is looking forward to make valuable contribution in the field of mathematics which will facilitate the study of Engineering courses.
Department of Mathematics offers Ph.D. program affiliated under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. Many of the Research Scholars are pursuing Ph.D. under the Research Supervisors in the topic of Graph Theory. We have more than 26 research publications in the UGC recognized Journals. We also conduct the presentation on the research topics by the research scholars to encourage them to have continuity in the research aspects.

Our Vision
To empower students with sound knowledge and aims to be a center of excellence in mathematics and is vigorously engaged in both research and teaching.
Our Mission
To impart quality education in the field of Mathematics and to develop mathematical thinking to solve various complex engineering problems.
Programme Outcomes
- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem analysis: Identity, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering achieves with an understanding of the limitations.
- The engineer and society: Apply to reason informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
- Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
- Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary settings.
- Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive clear instructions.
- Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
- Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
