In order to enhance technical skills of the students of Civil Engineering Department, a Technical Association is formed in the Academic year 2011-12 with the name ‘ACES’-Association of Civil Engineering Students, with a punch line “ Where Imagination & Reality are Bridged Together”.
Logo Description
- The background of this logo describes major responsibilities being a Civil Engineer. Our Logo illustrates our Foundation and Focus.
- A Surveyor in the background is planning for a building before construction, which indicates proper vision and mission for any progress of work.
- Prosperous Nation comes up with Intelligent minds, Good infrastructure, Good network of roads and by constructing bridges to overcome obstacles. Our Association ‘ACES’ Trains the students through various events, seminars, study tour etc… and make them fit To achieve the above dreams for the welfare of the society.
- The Green Leaves at the forefront of the logo is a fitting symbol of Eco friendly growth.
Objectives
- It aims to improve the student standard with Practical knowledge.
- The Association caters the needs of students & provides a forum for developing new technology.
- It aims to nurture well disciplined socially committed and technically competent Engineers with innovative thinking.
- It proposes to organize various seminars, Lecture, Industrial Visit etc.
- “Sound Body Sound Mind” Association aims to conduct various sports activity in order to show their talents and make them fit.

- KLS’s VDIT Department of Civil Engineering has enrolled for institution membership-INDIAN GEOTECHNICAL SOCIETY with membership number IM-0153.
- KLS’s VDIT Haliyal has organized one day social awareness activity on Connecting rural India and Digital awareness program under UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN on 29 Oct 2022 for adopted village’s in Uttar Kannada district Kesoroli, Havagi, Javali, Ajgov and Javali, as a part of academic internship program. In this activity total 186 students were present.

- Department of Civil Engineering organized Alumni Talk series on “Career opportunities after Civil Engineering” by Mr. Abhishek Karaseeri on 9th November 2022 at KLS’s VDIT Haliyal.
- Department of Civil Engineering organized field visit to Kadra Dam for 7th semester students on 10th November 2022 at KLS’s VDIT Haliyal.
- Department of Civil Engineering organized field visit to construction site at Yellapur for 5th semester students as part of ADD ON course on 18th November 2022.
