It focuses on generating interest about resource conservation, create awareness of biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and other environmental issues among the student community.

Keep the campus neat and clean. Do not put any waste anywhere in the campus except in the waste baskets provided at every corner KLS VDIT has received certificate of Appreciation for their significant contribution in one student one tree initiative of ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION on 3rd December 2019. It’s the Earnest request to everyone to plant more tress and join your hands in maintaining the greenery and do not damage the pots or life of a plant. Did you know that although 70 percent of planet Earth is covered with water, only 1% of it is available for human consumption? Every drop of water counts. Save water to save ourselves. Reduce the personal water demand. Turn off the Tap when not in use. Do not eat in places where it is advisable not to do so. Join your hands to make the campus Plastic free zone. Plastic water bottle, Plastics carry bags are banned instead use any eco friendly material like glass, ceramic, stainless steel or any biodegradable material. No smoking in the Campus Do not post posters without approval. The application of ethical codes is not confined to internal use at the institution. Students are representatives of their college outside of the campus as well and must therefore behave in the same way.
We at KLS VDIT, are determined to change ourselves by undertaking actions before telling others to act and have taken the Pledge for Carbon Neutral Campus under AICTE SCCN(Smart Campus Cloud Network).

Tree Plantation Event for students of KLS VDIT, to plant at least one sample in their locality in view of National Service Scheme Day on 24th Sept 2020.
To protect our depleting OZONE LAYER awareness activity was organized on World Ozone day, 16th Sep, 2020. All the faculty have taken the pledge to pant more tress and to save water.
In an earnest attempt to lend a green touch to the Institution’s environment and sensitize the students about their role in conserving it, KLS’S Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology along with NSS unit VTU Belagavi, in co-ordination with NSS unit KLS’s VDIT Haliyal conducted Van Mahotsava on 13th July 2019 in the campus. The celebration was and ideal opportunity to install the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests and to conserve water. We have also received certificate of Appreciation for their significant contribution in one student one tree initiative of AICTE on 3rd December 2019.
Department of Civil Engg has conducted clean campus drive and collected plastic as part of “Swatchtha Hi Seva” campaign as per the direction of AICTE. The campaign started on 20/09/2019 by taking a pledge of plastic free campus. All the faculty members and students joined their hands in collecting plastic near Civil Engg. Block, KLS VDIT.
Every point of water utilization is with a signboard “To save water and to Maintain Cleanliness in the campus and also Eco Club VDIT has displayed its objective and rules every corner in the campus.
Save water drive was organized at KLS VDIT campus on March 23, 2019. All the faculty and students have taken a pledge to save water and to plant the samplings to maintain greenery all around.
