200 kW Grid Connected Rooftop Solar PV System
A grid connected Photovoltaic (PV) system is an electricity generating solar PV power plant that is connected to utility grid. By having a grid connected system, the consumer can export the excess generated power to the utility grid.
KLS VDIT has a solar power plant of 200 kWp capacity installed at the rooftop of Main Building (150 kW) and Mechanical Building (50 kW). This plant was set up in the year 2018 by M/S. Sterling & Wilson Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru with the investment of Rs. 82 Lakh. There are totally 626 solar PV panels of 320 Wp capacity wide spread in 1,215 square meter rooftop area. It consists of 04 nos. of grid tied inverters of 50 kVA capacity. Few other important equipment of the power plant are;
- Net Meter for recording both import and export of energy
- SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System
- Earthing Provided
- Lightning Arresters Provided
- HT Metering Cubical
- Data access using Solar
- “Invendis Solar” is a web application for accessing the system data (Data Logger)
- “i~Solar” by Invendis is an android application for accessing the system data.
The daily average power generation is 616 units and monthly average is 18,500 units considering the data of year 2022. The cleaning of solar panels is carried out once in a week.
