Activities for the year 2022-23

• KLS’s VDIT Department of Civil Engineering has enrolled for institution membership-INDIAN GEOTECHNICAL SOCIETY with membership number IM-0153.
• KLS’s VDIT Haliyal has organized one day social awareness activity on Connecting rural India and Digital awareness program under UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN on 29 Oct 2022 for adopted village’s in Uttar Kannada district Kesoroli, Havagi, Javali, Ajgov and Javali, as a part of academic internship program. In this activity total 186 students were present.
• KLS’s VDIT and Department of Civil Engineering conducted third party inspection KRDIL @ Dandeli on 29 Oct 2022.

Activities for the year 2021-22.

• Civil Engineering Department organized Clean India and plastic-free Campus programme as part of NSS Activity in view of Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Mahotsav 75 at KLS’s VDIT Haliyal on  25th October 2021. The event was coordinated by Prof. Vijaylaxmi. V Read more

• Civil Engineering Department organized a talk on “WOMEN- Health, Wellness and Selfcare” for all girl students/women, in association with ICC, KLS VDT, Haliyal on the  29th October 2021. The event was coordinated by Prof. Parvati. Oni Read more

• Prof. Laxmi G Hattiholi has organized Kannada quiz competition event for KLS VDIT students on 29th November 2021
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with ACES organized field visit to the RMC plant for 5th-Semester students on 8th December 2021. The field visit was coordinated by  Prof. Parvati Oni. Read more
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Department of Library & Information center organized Orientation Program on ” National Digitial Library ” (NDLI) on 10th December 2021. The event was coordinated by Prof.Rakesh Patil.
• Conducted IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial workshop on QCAD (open source software) for 3rd-semester students on 16th  December 2021
• Conducted IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial workshop on Blender  (open source software) for 5th semester students on 21st December 2021
• Conducted IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial workshop on Scilab (open source software) for 7th semester students on 23rd December 2021.
• Prof. Vijaylaxmi B. V.  Organized Debate and poster-making competition on eve of “National Youth Day” and Birthday of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti as a part of NSS event on 12/01/2022.
• Department of Civil Engineering conducted field visit for 3rd-semester students on25th  February 2022. Civil Engineering 2010 batch alumni Prateek H, MD, Aakruthi associates took the students to various project sites near Haliyal town.
• Visit by Government Polytechnic, Mundgod students to Department of Civil Engineering KLS VDIT, Haliyal. Conducted by Prof. Bhanupriya N in BMT Laboratory to study on “Tension test on Mild Steel bar” on 01/02/2022.
• Prof. Laxmi G Hattiholi, Prof. Vijaylaxmi B V, and Prof. Rakesh Patil has organized a debate competition on the eve of Matru Basha divas for the 1st  and 2nd year students on 17/02/2022.
• Prof. Vijaylaxmi B V attended One-week online AICTE-ISTE Sponsored Course on “Theory and Practical Essence of Bridge Engineering” Organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, KLS’s GIT, Belagavi from 1st  Feb – 7th Feb 2022.
• Prof. Laxmi G Hattiholi has delivered a talk on the Importance of Science and Technology for the KLS PUC students organized by KLS PUC Haliyal,  held on 7th March 2022.
• Prof. Harshvardhan V S conducted a Technical site visit to the “Thimmapur Old Tank Site located near Haliyal Fort in Haliyal” for sixth semester students held  on 5th April, 2022.
• Department of Civil Engineering conducted one day Technical Field Visit for final year students to Pilani EnviroTech Pvt. Ltd, Dharwad on May 26th, 2022. The event was coordinated by Prof. Parvati O and Prof. Sunilbabu P. Read more.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with IE(I) Civil Chapter and in collaborationwith Training and Placement Cell KLS’s VDIT has organised a Talk on “Campus to Corporate Vision your career before you Build it” for 6th and 8th semester students of Civil Engineering  on 27th May 2022. Er. Adarsh Patil Proud Alumni of KLS’s VDIT with 7 Years of Industry experience (B. Eng, (M.Tech) (PMP) presently working as Vice President & HOS Digital Engineering, Haegl Technology Pvt.Ltd was the Resource Person and coordinated by Prof. Laxmi G Hattiholi and Prof. Seema B.
• On the occasion of KLS VDIT Foundation Day held on May 11th, 2022, The Department of Civil Engineering was inaugurated by Dr. Karisiddappa, Vice Chancellor, VTU Belagavi, in presence of Dr. A. S. Deshpande, Registrar, VTU Belagavi, Shri. R. V. Deshpande, MLA, Haliyal Joida Constituency, and eminent Board Members of Karnatak Law Society. The inauguration coordination has been carried out by Prof. Harshavardhan, Prof. Rakesh P.
• On the occasion of KLS VDIT Foundation Day held on May 11th, 2022, Shri. Pradeep S.Sawkar, Chairman, KLS Belagavi inaugurated the new Basketball Ground. In Grand presence of the chief guest Dr. Karisiddappa the Honourable vice chancellor VTU Belagavi, Dr. A.S. Deshpande Registrar, VTU, Shri. Ram Bandare, Vice President, KLS. Shri. V.G Kulkarni, Shri. • Department of Civil Engineering arranged a farewell party for the final year students in association with ACES on 30th June 2022.
• KLS,s VDIT in association with N.S.S organized “Blood Donation Camp” on the occasion of Doctor’s Day at KLS’s VDIT HALIYAL on July 1, 2022.
• Department of Civil Engineering organized online test on SPOKEN TUTORIAL entitled “Q GIS open-source software” for 4th and 6th-semester students. 110 students attended the online test on August 18 and 19, 2022. Prof. Vijaylaxmi B V co-ordinated the event.

• Department of Civil Engineering KLS VDIT has organized a National level Webinar on “Introduction to Structural Design of RCC Bridges using MIDAS-Civil” on 30/7/2020 at 10.00am to 1.00pm under IE(I) Civil Student Chapter to Engineering students, Faculty members, Alumni, Practicing Engineers through Google meet platform.
• Department of Civil Engineering KLS VDIT has organized “How To Overcome Covid-19 Crisis Affecting Placement Drives” on 13/07/2020 at 09.30am to 11.00pm in collaboration with Training and Placement for Engineering students, Faculty members, Alumni, through Google meet platform.
• Department of Civil Engineering KLS VDIT has organized a National level Webinar on “Various Job opportunities for Civil Engineering students” on 04/7/2020 at 11.00am to 1.00pm under ACES and SANPOINT for Engineering students, Faculty members, Alumni, Practicing Engineers through Google meet platform
• Department of Civil engineering and Mechanical Engineering organized National Level Webinar on “Causes of Structure failure and good practice to prevent Catastrophic failure” under the ISTE Student chapter on  18th September 2020. 
• Department of Civil Engineering under ALUMNI TALK SERIES on “Want to crack GATE/GRE?” on 19th September 2020. The event was coordinated by Prof. Parvati B Oni and Prof. Rekha K.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter under ONLINE QUIZ SERIES conducted “MIND TENTACLES”-A technical Aptitude quiz for all the students of Civil Engineering Department on  28th September 2020.The event was coordinated by Prof. Parvati B Oni.
• Prof. Rakesh Patil has organized IIRS Outreach program on 68^th Geographical Information System on 28th September, 2020.
• Organized Digital Learning activities for Kesoroli and Havagi under UBA and VDIT banner on 3rd October 2020. Prof. Jayashree S of computer Science Department has presented the webinar for Rural School Teachers.
• Organized Digital Learning activities for Kesoroli and Havagi under UBA and VDIT banner on 10th October 2020. Prof. Rohini K of Electronics and Communication Department has presented the webinar for Rural School teachers.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with IE(I) student chapter and Ultratech Cement conducted a webinar on “BIM and IoT in Civil Engineering” Er. Adarsh Patil presented the webinar on 10th October 2020.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter conducted webinar on “CAREER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING- CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES” for the pre-final and final year students on 14th October 2020. Mr. Shivaprasad G S, Manager, Design Review team, Bureau Veritas (India) Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore presented the webinar.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter conducted a webinar on “Self Motivation” for the second-year students of all the Engineering colleges on 21st October 2020. Prof. G.V. Donurmath was invited as the speaker of the session. Nearly 45 students from the neighboring colleges attended the webinar.
• Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter under ONLINE QUIZ SERIES conducted “MIND TENTACLES”-A technical Aptitude quiz for all the students of the Civil Engineering department on 23rd October 2020. The event was coordinated by Prof. Parvati B Oni and Prof. Vijaylaxmi V.
• Department of Civil Engineering organized an online course on REMOTE SENSING and GIS on 26th October 2020.
• Department of Civil Engineering organized an online mock DCET Exam for Diploma Students on 9th and 12th October 2020.
• Organized Awareness program on  “Energy Conservation Using Solar PV Panels” in Havagi under UBA and VDIT banner for village farmers on 21st November 2020.Read more
